Howdy, and welcome to the Alewyfe Inn, an urban homestead oasis and AirBNB escape on the west side of Chicago.

We’d love to make your next vacation (or staycation) something really special!

Trust.

We are experienced AirBNB SuperHosts who have been welcoming travelers and short-term visitors to Chicago since 2016. Both of us have extensive backgrounds in the hospitality and food and beverage industry and take our hosting duties seriously, working immediately to address any guest questions or concerns.

We welcome guests of all backgrounds to our Chicago AirBNB and are 🌈 LGBTQIA+ friendly.

Safety.

We are continuing to provide our guests Covid-safe travel options, following the AirBNB enhanced-cleaning protocols plus additional precautions. The private guest unit has HEPA/UV air filtration, in-window AC, and radiant heat to ensure the safest possible indoor air quality. The guest unit has private entrances, secure fencing, locked gates and solar and motion lighting for extra security. We block 24 hours minimum between guests to protect both hosts and guests and allow adequate time for cleaning and sanitizing the space and linens to ensure your travel experience is as safe as can be.

We request that all guests be vaccinated unless they have a verifiable medical exemption. In-person check-in is masked and socially distant.

Ethics.

We also believe in providing ethical accommodations. Since this listing is hosted in an owner-occupied and managed single-family home, if you book a stay with us, your vacation or short-term housing has not removed any available long-term housing options from the rental market and your travel dollars (minus AirBNB listing fees) stay in the community.

Step outside the usual tourist neighborhoods and experience Chicago like a Chicagoan. The Alewyfe AirBNB is a very short walk from the CTA on a well-lit street with ample free parking. We are the third owners of this almost 140 year old Chicago “worker’s cottage” and are working to preserve and restore its historic charm while adding thoughtful modern comforts like upgraded fixtures, extra linens, Roku, a full-sized fridge and a fully-stocked coffee and tea bar.

This listing is a perfect home-away-from-home for our healthcare heroes, and we have hosted many medical school residents and travel nurses from the numerous nearby hospitals (Mt. Sinai, St. Anthony, UIC Medical District & RUSH, among others). We have also hosted hundreds of guests for other business travel, with free high-speed Wi-Fi and a quiet, private place to work, or folks just exploring the city on vacation.

This Chicago AirBNB listing is for a separate in-law unit downstairs with private entrances and small bathroom. 

• One queen-sized bedroom plus a living room/workspace with futon, chaise, and small desk, a 3/4 bathroom, and stocked kitchenette with full-sized fridge and stocked coffee bar and pantry.
• No shared spaces other than the garden and outdoor spaces, which are only shared with your hosts. 
• Sleeps 1-5 (1-3 guests comfortably).
