This burrata caprese salad is a twist on a classic caprese salad, and is a fantastic way to showcase the best of summer's ripe and flavorful tomatoes from your garden, CSA, or farmer's market.
3largeheirloom tomatoes(heirloom tomatoes vary in size, use more small tomatoes if needed)
4ballsburrata cheese
½cupfresh basil leaves
2tbspextra virgin olive oil
¾tspflaky sea salt (Maldon etc)
½tspfreshly ground black pepper
½tspdried oregano leaves(optional)
1tbspparsley or microgreens(optional)
Instructions
Wash and slice the fresh tomatoes into half-moon slices. Arrange the slices around the edges of salad plates or a serving platter.
Center a burrata cheese ball on each plate and add the basil leaves, tucking them between tomato slices.
Drizzle each plate with olive oil, and sprinkle the cheese and tomatoes with the seasonings.
Serve immediately.
