A Fall Backpacking Trip in Olympic National Park’s Enchanted Valley
Don’t forget to treat your water (giardia is a terrible souvenir)! We used good old Potable Aqua tablets (with neutralizer tabs) on this trip- plenty of places to fill up with clear, fast running water so no filter needed!View from the tent: The rainforest is, uh, wet (shocking, I know). Don’t get hypothermia (ask me how I know, I almost did. Hot soup to the rescue!).
Muh muh muy myyyy clavicorona! Coral mushroom, at least I think that’s what these were? Definitely past their prime but neat!
Lens fog, it’s a whole deal out here. Enjoy this mostly in-focus fungi though.
Is this a bridge? Sure. Looks fine to me. Beats getting your boots wet, as long as you don’t break your ankle. Beginning to see the appeal of hiking poles… who needs those when you have catlike reflexes? You. Cats would use hiking poles if they had them. (I didn’t, tbf, but my hiking partner did and I see why).
You’ve seen one waterfall, you… should definitely keep looking at and for all the rest of the hundreds of other waterfalls in the mist because they are spectacular? Yeah, that’s how that saying goes. I’m pretty sure (it’s so pretty here).
