It’s whatever gets you excited, gets your blood moving, and gets you active and activated, and the desire to explore and learn and grow.
An old outdoor book that shaped me pretty early on used the phrase, “miniature adventure” for short local trips (for that author, these were mostly canoeing and camping trips that could be completed in a weekend within a few hours from home). I try to bring this spirit to my own explorations. Sadly that book is long out of print, but its title holds true… “It’s a Wise Woodsman Who Knows What’s Biting Him.” (If you love puns and the outdoors as much as I do, pick up a used copy of that book if you can find one).
