HIKE/HOMEBREW: Samhain strolls & Halloween homebrew

title image text reads, "potent potables samhain stroll halloween homebrew mead" with image of hawthorn berries, crabapples, fresh yarrow, bergamot, and other herbs in a stainless bowl

Some snapshots from my weekend witch walks with the fellas in our local haunts… Foraging a fistful of yarrow, mugwort, bergamot, crabapples and hawthorn. I’m using these foraged treasures and brewing up some meads- the photos in this post are of a wild walk mead with wildflower honey. And I’m also making a wild blueberry mead with blackberry honey. That one is going to ferment with the oak chips and yeast cake from the Washington malbec wine kit that I racked from primary this week into a carboy.

So much excitement brewing over here, y’all!

Tomorrow, we’re brewing 🎃 pumpkin beer. That new homebrew will get pitched on the yeast from the Mocktoberfest ale that’s getting racked tomorrow on Halloween. There will be venison, and perhaps an evening bonfire. Magicial!

Hope y’all have a blessed Samhain weekend… Don’t forget to look to the sky for those northern lights tonight, if the clouds are anywhere as thin as the veil where you are?
